Doornbos Rental & Sales Guide 2020

OUR PEOPLE His enthusiasm is contagious. Ask him about his job and he will show you around the entire building with sparkling eyes and a big smile. ‘Sure, I can tell you about it, but you should really see it for yourself!’ It’s typical for Anton’s dedication to Doornbos. Although he likes strolling on the beach with his dog in his spare time, he enjoys being at work just as much. His motto: “If you enjoy something, it doesn’t feel like work!” ‘What my day looks like? I start around 6 or 7 in the morning and first check which high pressure pumps or vacuum units need to be delivered. I make sure everything is complete and ready for rental. Next, I bring the machines to the customers. Most customers know exactly what they need and how everything works, but sometimes I stay for an explanation or to start things up. After that, it’s always a surprise what the day brings. No two days are the same and that makes my job so much fun!’ Jack of all trades ‘I often collect the machines too and check them fully on return. I connect the hoses, guns and any accessories, such as rotor jets and cutting jets, to the pumps and test if everything works. I also check whether they actually deliver the pressure they’re supposed to. Next, I perform some minor maintenance such as cleaning, topping up oil and replacing water and oil filters. And if a customer calls with an emergency, I hop into my car to bring a pump for example. Even in the evening or in the weekend. The customer is king with us. So really the name of my position should be: Jack of all trades!’ Warm family business ‘I started here five years ago in the back office of the aerial work platforms. It soon became apparent that sitting all day wasn’t for me. I’d rather bounce, run or fly... After a stint at another department, I got this position. That’s typical for Doornbos. You get the chance to develop. No question is too much and you are always taken seriously. It is a very warm family business where all kinds of things are organised. Yesterday for example, we were all outside boot camping. Isn’t that great?’ Anton de Koning - Employee at High Pressure Logistics / Technology “No two days are the same” 3
